The Retail Services Department serves two related missions: to improve the appearance and success of existing retailing in the district, and to recruit new retailers. The department works with retailers, property-owners, and store leasing brokers, providing them with free resources and tools - demographic data, pedestrian counts, up-to-date real estate and retailing information - as well as advice and assistance from its professional staff on issues such as marketing, promotion, storefront and signage design, retail recruitment, legal issues, and zoning regulations.
